Our Theatres and Anaesthetics staff are based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, the Western General Hospital, both in the city, and at St John's Hospital, Livingston, a short journey away.

We are leading the way in many areas of healthcare, we are committed to giving patients the best possible patient care, and we value our staff as key partners in our service planning and modernisation processes.

Our new 42 bed facility at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh provides a dynamic working environment with a wide range of opportunities.

Neonatal

Our Neonatal services are based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the city, and St John’s Hospital in Livingston, a few miles west of Edinburgh. There are approximately 10,000 births per year in Lothian and 1,000 admissions to neonatal services.

As the regional centre for neonatal intensive care, the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh provides all levels of neonatal care and is also the base for the south east Scotland Neonatal Transport Team. Our Special Care Baby Unit at St John’s Hospital provides both high dependency and special care.

We are a progressive, forward-thinking team, committed to providing the highest possible standard of care to neonates and their families; and we value our staff as key partners in our service planning and development.
