NHS Lothian offers a number of Modern Apprenticeships every year.
Modern Apprenticeship’s help employers to develop their workforce by training new staff and developing new skills in existing employees. For individuals, a Modern Apprenticeship is a job that lets them earn a wage and gain an industry recognised qualification. They are open to anyone aged 16 to 24 years old.
Quotes from our current modern apprentices:
"I enjoy learning best, I have a purpose and feel good about myself again. It's made me look forward to coming to work, I was uninspired before. I like being in the NHS, it gives me great job security. When I finish I want to stay here and keep working."
"I didn't know what I wanted to do but I knew I wanted to be in healthcare. This has let me experience a new challenge. I learn something new every day and I now hope to qualify as a biomedical scientist."
"I feel I'm getting so much out of my apprenticeship, I have new phases of learning. I'm not stuck like others who don't have a way to move on."
NHS Lothian will have a stand at the Scottish Apprenticeship Show. The dates are Sunday 1st October 2017 10am until 4pm and Monday 2nd October 9am until 2pm. It is at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. We would love to see you there.
