A real job and a real wage
Our Modern Apprenticeship programmes start on a minimum salary of £16,532 per year (pro-rata for part-time posts) and are paid at the living wage; current living wage £8.45 an hour (scottishlivingwage.org). Our modern apprenticeships are designed for anyone who is 16 to 24 years of age although we also support older staff already working with us to take up these opportunities.
If you would like more information on apprenticeship schemes please visit the Skills Development Scotland web pages on modern apprenticeships.
Our apprenticeships last from 12 months to four years during which you are asked to commit to on the job training to evidence the skills and knowledge you will gain during this time. Some of our apprenticeships may involve attending an education provider on day release but many do not. The majority of learning always takes place within your workplace. You will be offered workplace support and mentoring to help you evidence your learning and achieve the full potential of your role - all we ask is that you show commitment and passion for your learning and your role in delivering excellent care. All new learning will be challenging at times, we are looking for individuals who are willing with our support to grab this opportunity.
In return all our new apprenticeships are offered permanent positions - for many entry level posts there are no minimum qualifications or experience required, just potential.
